Black Coffee speeding case postponed yet again

Award winning DJ Black Coffee briefly appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates after he was allegedly caught speeding with his foot flat on the pedal.
Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo's case finally got underway on Tuesday after his docket was not available in his first appearance.
During the court proceedings both parties stated that representations were already made to the court. The outcome of the consideration of these representations is expected to be made on February 23.
The popular house music DJ who was allegedly driving his blue Maserati at the time of the incident, was allegedly nabbed after clocking 200 kph in a 120 kph zone on the N1 highway near the Maraisburg Bridge off-ramp on Christmas Eve.
He was arrested on the spot and taken to Florida police station where he was released on R800 bail.
During the first appearance the Black Coffee and his wife, Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa made a concerted effort to avoid the media by using the back exit with the assistance of the court officials.
However, yesterday, Mlotshwa rocked up in a black G63 Mercedes Benz and confidently walked behind her husband as they strode past journalist. They were accompanied by two lawyers who were not willing to comment on the record.
Following his arrest Black Coffee shared an apology on social media. “Some of you may have learnt that on the eve of Christmas, 24 Dec, I committed an unfortunate offence of driving beyond the recommended speed limit” read the statement.
Black Coffee is one of many of Mzansi’s well-known speedster personalities who have been caught on the wrong side of the law.
Lennox Bacela, Pretoria University striker also found himself behind bars after clocking 178km/h in a 120km/h zone on his new BMW M4. He was release after he paid bail of R2 000. He will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on 22 February.
On Tuesday morning, it was officially announced that Black Coffee is part of the lineup at the 2016 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, set to take place in April in the US. He will share the stage with international music A-lister such as Guns N' Roses, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, Ice Cube, Disclosure, Sia and A$AP Rocky.
