UHuru's hit song Y Tjukutja is not only a hit track in Mzansi but also internationally.
These local singers and producers have built a reputation for producing hit songsNow international recognition is pouring in for the group as they take the African continent by storm.
They have been nominated in five categories: best African collaboration, best African electro, Best African group/dou/band, artist of the year and best song of the year at the All Africa Music Awards (Afrmas) that set to take place in Lagos, Nigeria on the 9th of November.
Uhuru is made-up of Maphorisa, DJ Clap, Xelimpilo and Mapiano, and they have been producing hit songs for local artists such as Professor, Winnie Khumalo and Mafikizolo.
They are responsible for making hit songs like DJ Zintle's My name is , Dr Malinga's Jika, Not yet Uhuru, Via Orlando remix, Lvovo's Palesa and mafikizolo's Khona.
Maphorisa told daily sun that ,"They were very excited about the nominations because it meant that Africa was finally recognizing what they are capable of.
"We know that Y Tjukutja is one of the biggest songs in Nigeria," he said
Uhuru has already collaborated with various Nigerian artist such as Davido, Wiz Kid, and Diamond.
"Wiz Kid is releasing an album soon and we have done two songs with him. "One of the songs featuring Akon," he added.
The Afrimas are aimed at propelling the continent's creative industry and talents beyond the continent's shores.(originally on daily sun)
