ZONKE, ARNO CARSTENS AND OSKIDO TO JUDGE THE X FACTOR SA

 

 

 

 

 

Award-winning singer Zonke will join rock royalty Arno Carstens and the legendary Oskido as judges in the search for South Africa’s next big singing sensation when The X Factor South Africa makes its highly anticipated debut on SABC 1 on Saturday, September 6, at 6pm. Each one brings a special quality to the world’s most successful singing completion, where they’re going to mentor, guide, critique and challenge the contestants, spurring them on to greater heights.

Zonke

Zonke has achieved incredible success as a singer, songwriter and producer, and one can see why when listening to her multi-award-winning double platinum album Ina Ethe. She has won numerous SAMAs, most recently for Best Live DVD and Best African Adult Album for her recently released Give And Take Live project. She has also written music for and collaborated with some of South Africa’s most legendary artists. Zonke brings a nurturing, guiding spirit to The X Factor South Africa – expect to see her cheering the contestants on and offering a shoulder for the disappointed to ctry on.

Oskido

Oskido is an award-winning producer, performer, radio presenter, record producer and entrepreneur. He founded the legendary Kalawa Jazzmee label, a local institution that has shaped Mzansi youth culture, producing acts like Bongo Maffin, Mafikizolo, Alaska, Professor, Character, Boom Shaka, and DJ Zinhle. He is forever ploughing back into the music industry through initiatives like the annual Southern African Music Conference and DJU (DJs Unite). Oskido is big on charisma and charm and, guided by his personal ‘I believe’ mantra, will be challenging contestants to dig deep and create their own unique signature.

Arno Carstens

During his career as the lead singer of Springbok Nude Girls and subsequently as a solo artist, Arno has released 10 studio albums. He has 20 top 10 singles, has won five SAMAs and sharedthe stage with legends of the music world like U2, The Rolling Stones and REM. He has toured extensively at home and abroad, appearing at festivals around the world. As an artist, he has always followed his inner voice, and done it his way. And that’s what Arno’s going to be looking for in The X Factor South Africa: singers who are brave, bold, and most importantly, real.
